Stovetop Brewing For Chai

Curious about how to brew the perfect cup?  Follow this step-by-step guide below.

 

Easy Stovetop Method: 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup filtered water per person
  • 3/4 cup milk per person (Dairy, Soy or Macca milk are best)
  • Sweetener of your choice
  • 1 tsp per person of Chai Collective Traditional Spice mix (plus a pinch for the pot)
  • Optional - 1 knob fresh ginger
  • Optional - 1 knob fresh orange turmeric (sweeter than yellow turmeric)
  • Small saucepan
  • Hand held strainer

 

Follow these steps:

  • Thinly slice ginger & turmeric and pound with mortar & pestle.  
  • Add water to a saucepan. 
  • Turn on the heat, add ginger, turmeric and chai traditional spice mix.
  • Simmer gently for 1 minute or until it begins to smell amazing! 
  • Add milk to the pot and re-heat, then remove from heat just before boil. 
  • Add sweetener to each cup. 
  • Strain chai into each cup and stir. 
  • Best when shared with loved ones.  Enjoy!!
